Călătorie la Enisala/ Journey to Enisala

Spre deosebire de acum nu mult timp în urmă, tehnica, interconectarea și libertatea de a visa dau azi vânt în aripi unora de a se exprima artistic de capul lor. Așa au apărut și s-au înmulțit proiectele one man band. Dacă-s bune sau nu, dacă aduc mai multă sau mai puțină valoare e irelevant. La urma urmei fiecare judecă după gusturile lui. Eu sunt dintre cei care susțin atfel de proiecte poate pentru doza de nebunie, poate pentru diversitate, poate pentru că nu știi niciodată pe unde stau ascunse diamantele.

Mircea era ultimul din trupa Am Fost La Munte Și Mi-a Plăcut care nu se exprimase muzical – din câte știu eu cel puțin – prin alte trupe sau proiecte solo. Deconectarea lockdown-ului se pare că i-a descătușat imaginația sau i-a scăzut nivelul timidității și astfel i-a dat imboldul necesar de a porni pe drumul proiectului solo. Deci o călătorie în el și prin lumee așa cum o vede el. Aici voiam să vă aduc 😜. Tot EP-ul lui de debut – ENISALA– mi se par o călătorie.

Să începem cu numele proiectului, Dog Is My Copilot. Pe lângă faptul că mi s-a părut un pamflet smart și serios la una din trupele emblematice ale post-rockului modern are și o latură ce ține de călătorie. Ce făcea omul la începuturi când pleca în necunoscut? Lua un câine cu el căruia îi încredința și rol de ghid câteodată. Cu atât mai mult debusolatul și fără de repere om homo cotemporanus vede în câine un copilot pe timpuri periculoase.

Și unde a plecat Mircea? După închisoarea lockdown-ului a evadat spre Enisala, cetatea medievală, cocoțată în vârf de deal dobrogean, care primăvara dezvăluie vizitatorilor o natură aproape ireală. Poate aici a avut declickul?

EP-ul are patru piese pe care eu le văd strâns legate de experiența la Enisala.

D21 – Drumul. Drumul spre Enisala/drumul spre înăuntru. Pasajele de chitară, uneori lungi și repetitive, alteori solouri entuziaste, partitura de tobe, deloc monotonă, surprinzătoare și plină de dramatism, executată de Eduardo de Santis de la The Chasing Monsters, sincopele de ritm și curgere ale piesei sunt fix atributele unui drum cu mașina, într-o dimineață însorită de vară, când o tai din București spre Dobrogea. Soare-n față de nu vezi nimic, dar o bucurie juvenilă că fugi spre libertate. E cea mai lungă piesă a EP-ului și nu degeaba. Drumul spre ce-ți place e drumul cel mai lung.

Saviemme – Decizia . Ai ajuns acolo. Peisajul, c-o fi exterior plin de verde crud și lacuri, c-o fi interior pe unde nu te-ai mai vizitat de mult, peisajul te umple de energie. Piesa are un build up spre explozie și apoi o deschidere entuziastă de aripi. Yessss! M-am decis! Hai s-o fac! De aici și parte a finală a piesei, energică, debordantă.

Radio Progress – Planul. Asta e piesa cea mai simplă. No drums. E și cea mai scurtă de pe EP. Oarecum repetitivă, ca un joc de glezne la încălzire, ca un scris de plan cu liniuțe pe hârtie. Nimic spectaculos, dar…

… dar urmează Go Home and Come Tomorrow – M-am apucat de treabă și-mi place maxim! pare că zice Mircea. Asta e piesa cea mai complexă de pe EP, piesa în care exuberanța post-rockului instrumental e la cote maxime. Ba chiar vocile din capul lui prin viață cu ajutorul lui Cosmin Lupu de la Days of Confusion. Ocazie cu care bifează și ei o îndelungă amenințare reciprocă de a face una împreună. Ocazie cu care poate zice Mircea că, nah, în sfârșit a pus voce pe post-rock 😜. Piesa asta parcă are în ea și o promisiune de Va Urma 😊.

Aș fi putut zice doar că Mircea de la AMFLMȘMP a scos proiect solo cu post-rock instrumental, un EP cu patru piese, un one man band – care nu-i chiar one man că e și Eduardo de Santis (The Chasing Monsters) la drums și Pi Ko (Glasgow Coma Scale) și Cosmin Lupu (Days of Confusion), dar am simțit că de fapt EP-ul ăsta a fost ceva mai mult decât atâta. Nu?

Ia de ascultați și voi aici. Și poate încurajați artistul cu un buy pe bandcamp 😉.

Technics, inter-connectivity and freedom to dream has unleashed the artistic side of many of us lately and, therefore, a lot of one man band projects have appeared. If they are of some value or not who’s to decide? De gustibus… I, for one, am very glad about this beautiful craziness and diversity because diamonds may come up from dirt.
Mircea was the last one from Romanian post-rock/progressive band – AMFLȘMP/ Going up mountains and enjoying oneself freely translated- who hasn’t been involved in any other musical projects afaik. Lock down, with its introspection affordable time, might freed his imagination and lowered the shyness level so much that THE PATH has unveiled its clarity in front of his eyes making him starting his solo project. A project like a journey, inside him and through the world as seen by himself. Aaaaand… this is where I wanted to bring you, folks 😉. The whole debut EP – ENISALA– seems to me like a journey

To start with the project name – Dog Is My Copilot-. It seemed to me at first like a smart & serious pamphlet for a well known post -rock band, but it also revealed a side that is very linked with journeys. Who was man’s companion in journeys at the beginning of hummanity ? The dog. Even more now when homo contemporanus has lost his direction.
And where did Mircea decide to go? After lock down prison he took the road to Enisala, a medieval fortress in Dobrogea, guarding the lakes from the top of the hill and surrounded by an almost surreal green landscape during springtime.
EP has four tracks which are very tightly linked with this trip to Enisala.

D21 – The road. To Enisala/ The road within. Guitar play-through, some of it long, repetitive, some of it enthusiastic, drums full of drama a la Eduardo de Santis from The Chasing Monsters, many flow changes just like a road trip by car in a sunny morning driving with the sun in your eyes when you escape from Bucharest and run towards the sea. Nothing but purely joy and smell of freedom. It’s the longest track of the EP and for a purpose. The road to what you like and love is the longest one 😉.

Saviemme– Decision. You are there. The landscape is breathtaking, either on the outside with plenty of raw green and never ending lakes, or on the inside where you have not visited yourself for a long, long time. The track has a build up towards an explosion followed by a launch to the sky . Yesss! I can do it! I will do it!

Radio Progress – The plan. This track is the simple one and the shortest one also. No drums. Somehow repetitive like an athletics warm up or a written plan with bullets on a piece of paper. Nothing extraordinary, but..

… but Go Home and Come Tomorrow comes. I started following my dream and I like it! This is the most complex track o the EP, the track where the exuberance of instrumental post-rock is at its best. The voices inside Mircea’s head came out and became alive with the help of Cosmin Lupu – the vocals from Days of Confusion – The track has an inner hidden message that you can hear it if you are really connected. It says To Be Continued 😉.

I could have said that Mircea from Romanian band AMFLȘMP has released his own post-rock instrumental project an four track EP – well not one man band because Eduardo de Santis from The Chasing Monsters played the drums, Pi Ko helped also, Cosmin Lupu add some voices in it – but I felt that this EP is more than that. Don’t you think so?
